Travel should change you, not just your passport.

Skyring Travel is one person. Heather Hansen plans every trip herself, for a small number of travellers at a time, because that is the only way to know a place well enough to be useful about it.

Late sun through coastal foliage on a steep green shoreline.
The places worth going are rarely the easiest to arrange. That is most of the job.

An explorer first, an advisor second.

Heather Hansen grew up in Los Angeles, where diverse cultures, incredible food and wild natural beauty sit within the same few miles: chasing flavours across neighbourhoods, canyon hikes, long walks along the Pacific. Exploring has always been in her nature.

She has planned travel professionally since 2022, specialising in adventure travel, expedition cruising and sustainable travel. Her focus is Asia: Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Indonesia.

She is not drawn to the highlight-reel version of a trip. She plans the version where you slow down, get a little lost and eat something you cannot stop thinking about, backed by Virtuoso membership, a network of vetted partners, and a personal relationship with everyone she works with.

Three things she will not trade away.

“Conscious” is doing a lot of work on a lot of travel websites. Here is what it actually commits Skyring to.

01 Planet
The hotels, lodges and operators Heather books are chosen for how they treat the place they sit in — not as a certificate on a website, but as something she has checked. Carbon-conscious routing, plastic-free excursions, lodges built to belong where they are.
02 People
An itinerary decides where the money lands. Heather routes hers toward local guides, community-owned experiences and family-run properties, so a trip funds livelihoods in the place you visited rather than a head office somewhere else.
03 Experience
Adventure and responsibility are not opposites, and treating them as a trade-off is usually a sign somebody has not done the work. In Heather’s experience the more considered trip is simply the better one.

Tell Heather where you are going.

Or that you do not know yet. The first conversation is about what you want the trip to feel like, not a deposit.
